Kotobuki Yakitori is known for their skewers, "overflowing sashimi bowls", and their unagi which is flown fresh weekly from Japan. Soooo that's *exactly* what we got! Unagi ($28) • Yakitori aka skewers (ranges from $3-$4) & Kyo San Sui Sake • Maguro Bakumori Don (26$) .
The moment we stepped in, we saw a tank of live eels and proceeded to ask the staff if these were the eels that were gonna be served to us. The staff said that they were and we were shocked! We previously went to another eel restaurant (picture post for another time) and they said that the tanks are usually just for show 😂 .
We personally thought the 'overflowing sushi bowl' was a tad bit gimmicky as it was served in a small bowl. Naturally the sashimi would look like it's overflowing, right?! For the unagi, we didn't think it's the best that we've had, though we must admit that it was fresh and the meat was sweet. It was grilled very nicely and was not overly charred. The yakitori skewers were grilled well, with a nice layer of teriyaki sauce over the top! Overall, it was a nice dining experience but we doubt that we would go back any time soon.
