"Bring together or into contact so that a real or notional link is established." This is the first found when I searched for the meaning of "connect" on google. But when I looked up for this entry on the Cambridge dictionary, the definition, when applied to a relationship, is "to feel close to someone or have a good relationship with them." On Instagram, I am trying to create a connected community around my blog, the online space where I share my vast travel knowledge. Instagram is the easy to use platform where I can upload photos of my daily life, and I can interact with people from all across the globe.
Thanks to this platform, I have met virtually, and sometimes physically, people from all across the globe that has generously shared their knowledge and helped me at different stages of my work.
There are moments when I need to give back and express gratitude to those creatures that have been so generous with me. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter the number of followers or of like a post is receiving. What matters is the soul of the person behind that numbers.
Today I am tagging on my photo the many people that have helped me so far, some of them are the ones that from day one have supported my new activity by liking and following it. Others are people that I regularly contact to ask for tips. Last but not least are the one who happened to become friends on the road and with whom I am collaborating somehow.
You can play and see their numbers (some are impressively high!), but remember that behind each account there is a person who has been generous to me.
What about you? How do you connect in this world of online platforms?
P.S. London is in bloom this week so stay tuned for tons of colorful flowers! But as you know Rome is my hometown and my fav city so you can check my latest guide about the best photography spots in town! .
