Indian Creek, Iowa. This is my personal favorite composition from driving across the country last month. The Black & White on slide 2 is pretty sweet. Overall, I was somewhat unhappy with most of the images from this trip. Every composition felt too rushed; time and patience is the photographer's best friend.
To me this image represents a story of struggle, despair, and hope analogous to the history of the American midwest. The name of the place, the differing shadows on each side of the water, the bright sky, foreground log, and the distant light. A lot going on here to me. Here's to the struggle that led to the country that all Americans experience today.
