🌸 S A K U R A 🌸
Cherry blossoms or ‘Sakura’ as they’re called in Japanese, marks the first sign of Spring. But, did you also know that sakura are a symbol of femininity, life and death and renewal?
Last week, we had the good fortune of coordinating a magical shoot. We ventured out to Auburn Botanical Gardens in Sydney to capture this maharani in all her glory. The inspiration being Spring and Sakura.
Onlookers were so captivated by her beauty, so much to the point that they pushed us all out of the way just to try and grab a quick snap! Luckily for us though, we had our own talent, the fabulous, Sal Singh to capture Sonali adorned in a bright yellow and neon pink combination lehenga.
Emphasizing her femininity, we draped Sonali in a striking lehenga from designer, Divya Reddy and matching jewels and nath from Vaani. India/Melbourne based makeup artist, Rabia used a soft and muted makeup palette to complement Shairy’s tousled ponytail. In a first, we also had incredible floral kaleera designed by Sai Garlands. Sonali’s mehndi was kept to a minimum so as to complete the overall bridal look.
Many people asked us along the way, what it is that we were trying to portray..
The fashionable, modern bride basking in the sunlight and embracing nature. Her touch is soft and gentle, just like the cherry blossoms.
The Spring/Summer wedding season is shaping up to be a fashionable one for brides to be. As we’ve seen in recent weeks on India’s fashion runways, Indian bridal wear designers are showcasing new offerings with their silhouettes.
Whilst the traditional red is still trending, we are presenting a bridal look that bucks the trend.
Just like the Sakura, springtime is short and sweet. Make the most of this beautiful season maharanis!
