For #texturetuesday I wanted to show you guys how the @sunniesface #Fluffmattes texture and formula compare to Pat McGrath Labs’ #MatteTrance and MAC’s Powder Kiss.
When #SunniesFace first launched their lipsticks and I saw photos of the texture, the first thing I thought of was Pat McGrath’s. At the price equivalent to like $7, I knew I had to get my hands on them.
Unfortunately they are only available in Manila (for now) but luckily at that time, I had a trip coming up so I just had to wait for a bit. I went to Manila last December and picked up two shades because I wanted to see if they’re any good first. (Plus I really wanted the original packaging which was in a nude component but they changed it to the frosted ones for the holidays.) When I finally tried them, the formula is super creamy, super matte, very opaque but feels so lightweight. Most importantly, did not dry out my very very dry lips! I just had to go back and get the full set. The shade range is awesome, very modern, and as promised, compliments morena (tanned) skintone, as in every shade looked great on me.
In terms of formula and texture they are nearly, if not completely, identical to Pat McGrath Labs #MatteTrance imo. I LOVE my MatteTrance but they set you back at $38. That’s a whopping $31 difference for what seems like the exact formula. I guess I can say the MatteTrance is a tad, like literally a hairline, more opaque but I mean for $31 more, they better be. (This is my first time swatching anything on camera, it’s a lot harder than it looks! Also the video is sped up)
As you can see one swipe with both, you can’t even tell that one is far more expensive than the other. (To be continued on the comments section)
