🤳🏽INSTAGRAM VS. REALITY🤳🏽
📱As we navigate our way through this Digital World, we are inevitably living in the best & worst time. While social media can be an amazing tool of connection and information, it can be also be a trigger for many of us. If we aren’t careful, it’s easy to get negatively affected by what we see online.
😫While scrolling through our social media feed, we unknowingly fall into a comparison trap i.e. we compare our worst moments to what others showcase as their best moments. In the process we forget that social media is essentially a HIGHLIGHTS REEL.
🤫As humans we only want to share our best moments….none of us want to broadcast the times when we are feeling stressed or upset. So that you can continue to use social media as a source of joy in your life, I urge you to remember this:
👉🏼Social media only represents a tiny sliver of someone’s life.
👉🏼Everyone is dealing with their own stuff…even if you don’t have a behind-the-scenes view
👉🏼You are doing SO well.
👉🏼What you see on social media is rarely the reality of what is actually going on.
⚙️Even with this picture you see, I’ll break it down for you:
💥Instagram: Me riding a cycle carefree
💥Reality: I have never learnt how to ride a cycle & I took this photo for the ‘gram in order to prove my point….absolutely no shame in my game.
