Po czym poznać dobrą kolonię? Recent Posts

I believe the main components for a successful post race recovery include three things; 1)hydration, 2) proper foods , some carbs and proteins and 3) continuous movement! Don’t sit and rest afterwards... move, move move. I like to stretch really well and then remain on my feet most of the day either just doing stuff around the house, walking, hiking, etc... and then wake up the next day and get right back to whatever activity it that I choose, such as an easy run. Today I ran 4 miles, walked the stairs numerous times and stood vs at my desk and got out of the office at lunch! Now a short but powerful leg routine. Am I sore from my race yesterday- not really! “Do as I say, not as I do”.... I hardly ever stretch properly after a workout. It’s something I do sporadically and only if I “have time.” Problem is, I see a huge difference in my flexibility, meaning I used to be a spry limber chick and now I’m a seized up ol gal 👵🏻 . Especially since I’ve been doing much heavier weights and way more intense leg days then I used to do. My new goal is to become better at warming up and cooling down properly. Recovering from lower back pain takes teamwork. There are certain things I need to do for my patients and there are certain things patients need to do & NOT DO. No bending over, no lifting with the back, no sitting on the sofa etc. Lay down on the sofa instead of sitting. Standing and sitting outs a lot of compression to the spine and discs. ✨GRACE✨ • • Fun fact: my best friend and I took a semester of ballet in college as our “easy” pass class....let me tell we were both humbled by that experience 🤣I found that I’m the least graceful dancer but I like to pretend that I could rock a tutu at the Nutcracker 🥜 🤷🏽‍♀️ Anywho, on my way home today “Amazing Grace (My chains are gone)” came on and I no joke burst in to tears💕 The psychologist in me internalizes everything and hardly let’s out strong emotions because they don’t seem “rational”. But apparently I needed a good cry 🤣 My heart felt light, my mind clear, and I was in awe of how God knew how to comfort me in times I didn’t even know I needed it❤️ 🎶 Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound. That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now I’m found. Was blind but now I see 🎶

|| Boundaries || ✨ Especially within the salon. Stylist friends☝🏼 Creating boundaries in our workspace with our clients and guests is just as important as the boundaries in our personal lives. My first 10 years behind the chair, it was all about the client and pleasing others because to be pleasing just felt natural. This led to me feeling tired, burnt out and moody about something I was once so passionate and excited about. Then I took a pretty significant break from the industry completely, leaving people, work friends and family with the ultimate let down. Upon coming back full time I made sure to set my schedule for the way I needed it to create balance in my life. I made it about me for once and honoring my body when I feel tired by giving it a break when needed and honoring my mind by giving myself plenty of time with each appointment. Practicing discipline in yoga taught me that I matter too and I cannot pour from an empty cup and that is my responsibility to keep it full in order to give as much as I naturally need to feel fulfilled in my passion. A lot of the people (guys and girls) I follow post a lot about the strength training or how they’re building their endurance. . I’m guilty of focusing on strength, and use high rep cycles to build me endurance (Whoo German Volume Training!). . One thing I’ve noticed is that very few talk about how they stay flexible. Solid meat based nutrition plus strength is great, but if you can’t bend over and touch your toes I think you’re lacking an aspect of fitness and adaptability. . I always include 10-15 minutes of deep stretches (especially after leg day due to load and volume) so that I can flex, bend, and otherwise maintain or improve that aspect of my health. This picture is of me getting into position for a deep quad stretch. I’ll lay back as far as I can here to really lengthen that muscle group. It’s uncomfortable, but that’s how I know it’s working. . I am an excellent storyteller, to myself ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨ Storytelling is how valuable information has been passed on from older generations to younger generations walking this earth. The stories and sayings are plain simple and direct oftentimes but the stories I’ve told myself over the, soon to be, 31 years of walking this earth have often been covered with a filter, a filter of emotions shaping the story to be untrue and unrealistic. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨ Seeing the world as it is, is a tricky thing. The inability to see the world as it is, factually as it is, is affecting myself and many people around me when learning to move and being in your own body. Making up a story that you need to be physically active because attaining a certain body shape will make you worthy of people’s attention, is not true. Neither is the story you created in your mind where you think that you need to be on a certain level for starting up training with a teacher whose work you’re interested. I see this is often the case, but of course it will depend on the actual teacher and their work as to what humans they take on. Thinking that you need to do many things before learning from someone is often not true. And if it is, if you ask- at least they can tell you! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨ Physical practice is physical practice. There are many great things that can be achieved with a good intention to do physical practice, and many debilitating things if the intention is not. My best advice if you, like me, tend to paint a picture in your head that is simply a made up story, is to: stop, breathe and look at what is actually in front of you; what can you see? Then do not go on further to attach anything to it- see it as it is and do the things you need to do to achieve the things that you want to do. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨ It may be simple, but the practice is deceivingly difficult when done correctly- that is how you know you're on the right path. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ [FT]

🌜 #ArdhaChandrasana  ↔ #HalfMoonPose  on with @janiceliou  ・・・ Ardha Chandrasana Half Moon Pose - it’s a staple in most yoga classes! But boy can it be a tricky pose. . I wanted to make this little visual to showcase some of the tendencies i see in students: 1) hand is too close to standing foot. the biggest thing i see that hinders finding balance in this pose is taking your hand too close to your standing foot. Think of creating a rectangle with your standing leg and arm while lengthening your bottom side waist. Take your hand directly under your shoulder a little bit wider than your standing foot. 2) disengagement in the lifted limbs. Engage through your fingers (think of creating a line from top wrist to bottom) and kick through your back leg (as though you’re pressing it against a wall) 3) standing toes are turning in and hip is jutting out. Try instead to externally wrap your bottom him back (think hip to back edge of mat) 4) torso is turning down to mat. Instead imagine a wall behind you and pressing your back and hip into the wall (stack your body) . If you’re just starting to practice yoga it can be confusing. I didn’t learn what i was trying to do until teacher training (and I’m definitely still learning!). I hope this helps in your yoga practice (home and/or class), and as always be patient with yourself and grateful for each step of the way! . highly recommend investing in a set of sturdy props: 2 blocks, 2 straps, and a good mat with cushion/grip. What do you do when you're sore? No, I don't mean sore from lifting weights and I don't mean scraped up like this picture. I mean the kind of sore that happens when you fly off a track going mach speed... Or something like that. Often times we want to do as little as possible. Stay on the couch. Don't move until everything feels better. Well, you can try that but your likely going to stay sore a lot longer. Of course there are injuries where you should stay as immobile as possible. But there's also soreness and stiffness that can benefit a lot from light exercise and stretching. Get the blood flowing to the sore areas which can promotes healing. Gently stretch out the muscles that might be tight or cramping. That's exactly what I had to do today. Yesterday my love for speed caught up with me. I was going down the Alpine Slide in Colorado (kind of like the luge-ish) and I flew off the track. Yes, I got some scrapes but what you can't see is that my back and shoulders are sore. Instead of doing nothing, I stretched and did some light exercise and now I feel a lot more limber. #convergefit  #stretching  #recovery  #fitnessforreallife

Have you guys ever seen those cool yoga poses and attempted them but completely butchered the pose, like how I did in this photo? . The photographer @arnicamille  was so puzzled with what I was trying to do but took a picture anyway. Kudos to her for capturing this moment and making it look cooler with the sunlight effect than it actually looked in real life 😂 . Can anyone guess what pose this was meant to be? . P.s. I really struggled to get my feet off the ground! Any tips would be great.

How do you warm up? Running laps, burpees, hip escapes down the mat, flow drills or even no warm up at all? Working on my shoulder mobility/postion/stability. Due to the artificial environment we have created for ourselves, most of our bodies are out of alignment. * * When our shoulders are chronically rounded forward due to sitting with bad posture, looking at the phone or computer etc. It causes SERIOUS PROBLEMS. * * It causes the pec minor/chest muscles to get short and tight and puts excessive strain and tension on the posterior chain (neck, traps, romboids, teres major, rotator cuff muscles ect.). When this happens, the head of the humorous gets pulled forward in the socket, which causes misalignment and sets off a chain reaction of dysfunction. * * When the chest is collapsed and shoulders are stuck forward in the socket, it makes it impossible for the lungs to expand in the upper chest, which makes it feel like you are always suffocating and causes you to breath into the upper chest (rather than the belly). This type of breathing is dysfunctional and makes it impossible to utilize oxygen effcientnly(Because of This you can't digest food properly) it also sets off the fight or flight response, which causes a contraction in the neck/traps, creates anxiety, stress etc. It's a vicious cycle that will keep getting tighter and tighter if you don't address the problem. * * Try out the exercises above, solve your problems. Мені завжди були близькі всілякі енергетичні практики. Я відчуваю світ як сплетіння різних енергій, вібрацій... Можливо для когось це звучить дико, але моя реальність - така. ⠀ Активно практикувати медитації я стала декілька років тому, до того я чомусь вважала, що медитація обов'язково потребує супроводу якогось "гуру" і може бути "неправильною". Я вже якось писала про сам процес, та й кому цікаво - інтернет повен всіляких керівництв. ⠀ Медитацію, чи то практику, якою я хочу поділитися, я зустріла вперше в марафоні @woman_insight_online  . В моєму виконанні вона дещо змінилась, та й ви можете легко змінити її під себе, головне - довіртеся своїм відчуттям. Про це я скажу ще окремо. ⠀ Отже. В моменти, коли я відчуваю себе трошки "поношеною", чи то після активних тренувань/навчань, частіше - після виступів на велику аудиторію, я готую собі сольовий скраб і йду в душ. По лініях лімфоплину (це моя "фєнєчка", стараюсь так робити всі масажі і навіть наносити крем для тіла) я скрабую себе і промовляю: "Я очищуюсь від всього, що мені не потрібно. Від всього, що мені не належить. Від всього, що заважає мені на моєму шляху". ⠀ Говорити можна вголос, пошепки, про себе - головне, щоб ви могли зосередитись на суті цих слів, а не літати думками деінде. Коли закінчую - вмикаю душ, і бажано з головою, стаю під потік і іноді співаю мантру, іноді просто повторюю формулу очищення, найчастіше просто уявляю, як вода змиває сіль разом з "брудом" (спрацює класно для візуалів). Тут вже як вам ближче: мантра, молитва, афірмація, візуалізація - головне, щоб обраний текст чи картинка давали вам якусь внутрішню опору, щось для вас дійсно означали. Важливо вірити в те, що ви робите. ⠀ Трошки підкажу як можна модифікувати цю практику в каруселі з фото, гортайте➡️ ⠀ Слухайте себе. Вірте собі. Будьте собою.❤️
