I think @mumfordandsons 's Babel does a fantastic job of exploring the crumbling, shuddering mess that social fabric has mostly turned into today. Our cities inescapably nurture our greed and our pride, and we insist on creating higher walls and taller buildings.
And yet, the song also offers a beautiful counterpoint of "grace and choice". In time when reaching out to the world is easier than ever before, perhaps we should unplug for a while and choose to reach out to our neighbours instead. Choose to wrestle and race with our family. Choose to climb trees to pick the sourest imlis. Choose to step out and feel the dawn warm our faces.
