mindset MINDSET mindSET mInDsEt⁣ 🧠 ⁣ now that youre probably annoyed at the word mindset - lemme tell you why is so damn important - as if you havent heard it enough, with this selfie after a bomb back sesh (thanks to @astroud36  🥰) ⁣ ⁣ BUT - it really is. ⁣ ⁣ we perceive reality the way we are, not things in our reality the way they are. ⁣ ⁣ think about it: you are LITERALLLY deciding and shaping your reality every minute, with every reaction and every thought you have.⁣ 🤯 ⁣ you have experiences, you learn a lesson, you grow a little bit - this shit is a slow process. im still learning that the more pain or hardships you have, the more lessons and growth you have.⁣ 📈 ⁣ with that comes some challenges, some success and some achievement. this all shapes your internal world and shows you how to react and perceive your external world.⁣🤟🏻 ⁣ I always took things personally, distanced myself cause I hated confrontation, made myself small in order for others to be big, etc.⁣ #smh  🤦🏻‍♀️ ⁣ over the past couple of months, ive learned that everything I do, think, or say shapes the way my reality is going to be. ⁣ ⁣ SO - adapt to a growth mindset, not a fixed one. Monday mood: feelin gewddd 🙌🏻⁣ ⁣ Macros got increased again and we are officially in full on grow mode. ⁣ ⁣ In order to really thrive in the sport of bodybuilding, or just gaining muscle in general, you must be okay with gaining weight. ITS GONNA HAPPEN.⁣ ⁣ Your clothes are going to get a bit tighter, youll be eating more food, sometimes more than you’re used to, you’ll probably feel uncomfortable, but you’ll be lifting heavy weight if you really push yourself and adding some serious muscle to your physique. ⁣ ⁣ This is something I sometimes struggle with, especially with BDD and having an ED past. Then I remind myself that I’m lifting heavy weight, eatin good, and it will all pay off in the end. ⁣🏆 ⁣ So lift heavy, eat good nutritious food, drink your water, and remember - always go for 5 more reps. 😈⁣

Busy day today, getting proper flooring in and down, sealing it all and then putting foam mats down for the rest of the garage. But it’s slowly becoming a proper man cave now as well as a garage gym. Heating in now as well to prepare it for the typical British cold weather. It’s definitely somewhere I’ll be spending a lot more time. Leg day 😛 I had to go to the gym in the evening yesterday and it was cRaZy busy, which kinda forced me to do a different routine, which was actually V GOOD ⠀ Full workout: 🌟 Hip abduction machine (4x12 heavy, 4x20 slightly lighter) 🌟 Leg press (pyramid set, starting with 4x12 at moderate weight then working up through the weights whilst reducing reps) 🌟 Deadlifts (2x12 moderate weight, 2x8 heavier, 4x4 heavy) 🌟 Weighted glute bridges (4x12) ⠀ I always like doing some heavier weights for a few reps mixed up with lighter weights and higher reps, best way to get a burn going if you ask me 🤪 glutes were on fireeeeee 🔥

Clean and press is slowly getting back up there again. Up to 50kg today hoping to quickly build up to 65-70kg 👌Swipe for today’s workout 💪 . I’ve been slack with posting recently purely because work stress has been the highest it’s ever been. I’ve been working crazy hours and not taking any breaks, so everything else has taken a bit of a back seat. After 6 weeks of being ill and not training and then straight into work travel and work stress, it’s safe to say I’m the unfittest I’ve been in a long time. Made a promise to myself this week that no matter how bad stress got I’d still make sure I prioritised enough time for my full sessions, and I’m starting to feel better already. . I used to be all about going heavy as you can with out support but I got to say as I'm getting older you do actually feel your body change. It can't take as much punishment as it used to. I'm saying this now at the age of 31 so god knows what it will feel like at 61. We shall see. My point being listen to your body. I now wear a belt for my heavier lifts. The aches and pains are natures way of warning you something has to be done weather it's treatment or adjusting something. In my case a little more support. I'd rather have a bit more support and carry on lifting than having an injury that prevents me from lifting again. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. Cycle set! Focus was again on improving my FTP For this set I did a warmup for 10 mins, followed by about 95% of my FTP - 260 Watts, for 3 mins, then 75 % of my FTP - 215 Watts, for 5 mins, then 40% of my FTP - 115 Watts, for 2 mins. I repeated this circuit 5 times and did a cooldown at the end. Idea being, longer I can stay at 260 Watts will make it easier for me, when I try and re rest my FTP. It's also important to keep it above 200 Watts in this circuit for the 8 minutes, makes it easier for the body to get use to it. So are you cutting or bulking..? 💪🏻 So why do I cut & why do I bulk... 🏋️‍♀️ It is important to think of your body like a machine, if you over work it, things will go wrong. So when planning your goals you need to remember the stress you put on your body through nutrition 🥗 & training 🏋️‍♀️ Cutting: Puts on a lot of stress to the body through the nutrition side of it. By reducing the calories you are testing the limits of the body and how it works on a limited amount. 🥗 Bulking: Puts on a lot of stress to the body through training. You will find your weights will increase therefore challenging the muscle and bones in your body. 🏋️‍♀️ So thinking of the bigger picture, if you did a long period of time on just one of these (cutting or bulking) would it be very healthy on your body?🤕 That’s why I plan my goals with both cutting & bulking in mind. I cut down to show more muscle definition and then bulk up to increase the size and shape of the body. SMASHED some shoulders this morning! We’ve been in a “shred” period for like 9 weeks now, with next week being the last week before starting up our first ever bulk 👀 In these last 9 weeks, @breytonnealis  has went from 217 lbs to 196 lbs 😱 This little tri-set was towards the end of our workout. Yesterday day and night involved lots of sitting down, add in a late night and a super early morning today & my body is itching to work out! 🤦‍♀️🏋🏼‍♀️ Sat on the train this morning I have come up with the following cardio filled workout which I plan to do later today 🙌🏼 My relationship with burpees is a tense one - one minute I love them, next minute I hate them 🙃 (I’m sure many people can relate!) What I can’t deny though is how effective they are! 👊🏼 Why not give the below a try, completely body weight only - no equipment needed ✌🏻 can be done anytime, anywhere (although I’ll leave the appropriateness of the location down to you! 😂) Warm up:- (20 of each, x 4 rounds) squats, lunges, press ups, sit ups, star jumps - gradually build up the intensity so that by the 4th round you’re putting in 100% ☺️ Follow with: 30 burpees ✌🏻 Main session:- Once your adequately warmed up, work through the below (how you do this part is completely up to you - you can either box them all off in one or do 10 of each working through until they’re all done 👊🏼) 100 burpees (slap clap) 90 squats 80 lunges 70 creepy crawlies 60 press ups 50 sit ups 40 1/2 burpees 30 squat thrusts 20 mountain climbers 10 creepy crawlies with press up ***Note: On the minute every minute, whatever you’re doing stop ✋ and do 5 slap clap burpees before resuming where you were*** Enjoy! 😘 . . . . .#workout  #workoutroutine  #train  #trainlife  #burpees  #burpeeschallenge  #cardio  #cardioworkout  #fitness  #fitnessmotivation  #hiitworkout  #hiit  #workoutwednesday  #health  #healthylifestyle
